Sanghita Bhattacharyya has over two decades of experience, with cross-cutting research interests spanning maternal and child health, quality of healthcare, health management information systems, child nutrition, and community participation. She holds a doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, with a specialization in Demography and Population Studies.

Her work with the Public Health Foundation of India, a leading think tank in public health research and policy, has deepened her understanding of how to bridge evidence-based research with policy and health system strengthening. She has successfully led research teams through all stages of the research cycle—conceptualization, design, implementation, and dissemination—and has conducted studies across various states in India. At UNICEF headquarters, she led a global knowledge platform, the ‘Community of Practice in Community Health’, which facilitates knowledge exchange, collaboration, and action by connecting practitioners, policymakers, planners, donors, implementing agencies, NGOs, and research institutions. She is particularly interested in fostering cross-country learning through digital platforms that mobilize global expertise.

She applies academic rigour in all her research, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods along with robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks. This is reflected in her publications in peer-reviewed journals, policy briefs, and presentations at international forums.
