Mondira Bhattacharya completed M.A. and MPhil in Geography with specialisation in Agricultural Geography and then went on to do a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. During her research tenure she pursued interdisciplinary social science research in current and relevant topics especially in the field of agriculture and rural development. She has previously worked with organisations such as the National Council of Applied Economic Research Confederation of Indian Industry — Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence and the Indian Society for Ecological Economics at the Institute of Economic Growth, New Delhi, in various capacities. Her experience of working with some of the leading practitioners and organisations in the area of agriculture and rural development has helped her develop perspectives on critical issues impacting the country. She has presented papers in national and international seminars and has several research publications to her credit.
