Dhruva Narayan, Managing Editor, Samajik, a post-graduate in History from Patna University, is a social-political activist and longstanding editor and publisher. He has been engaged in research and activism on various issues related to education, federalism, decentralisation, social justice, human rights and migration. Formerly, publisher and executive director, Rainbow Publishers Ltd he is currently Managing Editor, Daanish Books. Dhruva Narayan has undertaken numerous translations and edited many journals and magazines. Part of the Alternative Survey Group that has been compiling the Alternative Economic Survey since 1991, both in English and in Hindi, his translated volumes include Rajni Kothari’s seminal work on Communalism in India. He was part of the editorial group that prepared the alternative report on Convention on Rights of the Child and has contributed a chapter on child abuse, in Alternative Report on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, India, Rainbow Publishers. Dhruva Narayan is also founder-trustee of the JANAM Foundation and a national executive member of the All India Panchayat Parishad heading its research and advocacy cell.
