Knowledge Bank
The Knowledge Bank at CSD, formalized as ‘Professor Amar Kumar Singh Library’ has about 10,000 titles which includes books, reports, reference books and non-book material. The collection is housed subject-wise under three major streams, viz. Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Humanities. The Library subscribes to 29 journals and a few online databases, such as Economic and Political Weekly, Down to Earth, Development and Change Web Edition and Indiastat.com. It also receives 11 daily national newspapers and final research reports of all projects carried out at CSD.
Recently, the Knowledge Bank operations have been automated using LIBMAN – integrated library software. It maintains catalogue database of books, SOCIAL CHANGE articles, reports and periodicals holding on a regular basis, accessible through the Council’s Local Area Network (LAN). All faculty members and employees of the Council are eligible for membership. Visiting users are advised to carry an official request from their respective organizations. The Library also has corporate membership of the Central Secretariat Library, Delhi. Interested faculty may get in touch with the library in-charge for availing the service.
