Dr Akhil Alha holds PhD in economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and his doctoral thesis was on labour market dynamics and well-being of workers in India. He joined CSD in June 2014 and his research interests lie in the domains of labour market dynamics, agrarian economy, political economy of development and caste-based discrimination in labour market. Before joining the Council, he worked with late Prof T S Papola at the ISID, New Delhi and as a consultant in GIDS, Lucknow. Dr Alha has a couple of publications in peer-reviewed journals to his credit. He is also associated with a number of farmers’ movements in Rajasthan.
