Former Principal Economic Adviser, Government of India, Ministry of Finance. Mr. Dasgupta worked earlier at the World Bank for over twenty-five years, as Sector Manager and Lead Economist and Member of its professional boards. He has taught and lectured at universities and think-tanks and has experience of many countries, and states in India. He is the principal author, co-author or editor of 10 books and 100 articles. He was educated at Delhi and Cambridge Universities. He received the Adam Smith Prize & Medallion at Cambridge University and the Amex Bank Review Award for essays in international finance at Singapore.
